How does it work?
Neuromuscular Release Therapy (NMR) looks at the whole you- physical, mental, emotional & spiritual and by working to balance the whole body from an energetic point of view. NMR follows a specific sequence that is designed to release tension in muscles and trigger points to help re-educate the muscles to function the way they are meant to. Applying pressure to an acute, tense muscle, stimulates nerve pathways which allows a 'conversation' to take place between the nervous system and muscular system. This sends a signal to the brain the entrapped nerve to release, therefore allowing the entire area to relax and soften. Neuromuscular release restores much needed blood and oxygen to the muscle and the affected area. This in effect, releases the tension in muscles surrounding organ cavities, and therefore restores the body's physiological function back to optimal levels. Once the brain returns to sending the correct messages to the muscles through the nervous system, the body returns to its natural posture and alignment. Neuromuscular release is a synthesis of orthobionomy, wholistic pulsing, TFIE Bowen technique and acupressure.
During the session, stored emotions in the body may come up for you to acknowledge and process. You will have the support of Kinesiology to resolve and release them easily and gently.

How many sessions should you receive for optimal results?
Muscle holds memory and so it is recommended that you receive a minimum 3 sessions for your muscles to re-write memory and to see lasting results. It is then recommended that you receive maintenance sessions depending on the severity of your structural & muscular ailments.
What can you expect to experience during a session?
NMR is a a little less gentle than most massage therapies and can sometimes be uncomfortable. Firm pressure is applied to trigger points or tight, tense muscles that have been overused or injured, which may cause temporary pain and discomfort. However it will be discussed what level of pressure you will be comfortable with. During the session you may release stored emotions, which may cause temporary emotional discomfort too.
What can you expect after a session?
After receiving NMR, clients report experiencing pain relief, deep relaxation, increased range and ease of movement, feelings of ease and lightness throughout the body, improved postural balance, faster recovery times from injuries, a sense of self-empowerment, increased vitality and emotional balance, and an increased sense of wellbeing.
